TRACKER WATCH

The tracker watch created by us lets the parents track their kids(wearer) anywhere within a range. In this industrious era where everybody is bustling to make a mark of their own in in their field, many parents find it difficult to make some time for their kids. Gone are the days when parents used to allow their kids to play outside unattended. They are in a constant dilemma as to whether to keep their energetic child shut in a cage or to let them fly alone. And eventually, the anxiety of facing consequences of letting their young ones unsupervised wins and kids these days spend their youthful childishness in front of an idiot box. But this can’t be left unanswered as the future of every country lies with children. And thus, we came up with a solution that does not compromise the safety of the kid and also keeps the parents relieved.
The transmitter (watch) consists of Arduino ProMini, SX1276 LoRa transceiver module, NEO 6M GPS module and an SOS button. The receiver placed in the child’s house consists of Arduino Uno, SX1276 LoRa transceiver module, NodeMCU ESP8266 and a buzzer. The latitude and longitude (child’s position) from NEO 6M is transmitted through the LoRa module and is received by the LoRa module placed in the receiver’s side. This data is then uploaded onto firebase (cloud) with the help of NodeMCU. In the final stage, this data is retrieved from the cloud through an app created through MIT app inventor. This app takes the latitude and longitude and pinpoints the child’s position on the map. This lets the parents view their child’s location in a hassle free manner. The watch also has an SOS button (push button) connected to the Arduino. The status of the push button is also transmitted similar to that of the GPS coordinates. When the button is pressed, a buzzer on the receiver module sounds, which can be manually reset. One advantage of this watch is that, power consumption is very low as we are using Lora module. If it had been sim/Bluetooth, the watch had to have been frequently charged.
Implementing this tracker watch helps a lot of ambitious parents by providing them with the comfort of having given their child some much needed outdoor time without compromising the child’s safety. This watch also helps parents in tracking their children in crowded areas. Not only kids, but it also lets the concerned children track their elderly parents. Women safety can also be achieved through this watch up to a level. The SOS button provides an additional support measure that lets the parents know when their child is in danger. Many added features such as health monitoring system can also be included in the future . Same technology can be used in parking systems where the user could track the location of vehicle.
